Two New Members Join CUBG

  Lately two arboretums have joined CUBG becoming the members to participate in the development of Chinese botanical gardens.
 
  These two are Daqingshan Lime Stone Arboretum and Xiashi Arboretum, both attached to Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry, Chines Academy Foresty, in Pingxiang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
 
  Daqingshan Lime Stone Arboretum, built in 1980, covers an area of 36.87 hectares. It located between 21°57′47″ N and 106°59′30″ E. with the annual average temperature of 21.5 ℃. It focuses on the reintroduction on limestone trees. Now they have preserved 680 species of trees, among which 334 species of limestone trees are included.
 
  Xiashi Arboretum has preserved 1098 species of trees in the area of 250 hectares of its six living collections. It emphasizes on the reintroduction of commercial tree species in tropics and southern subtropics. It has brought social and economic benefits through selecting and cultivating the superior tree species for greening.
 
  Until now, there are totally 102 members in CUBG.
